Dear Montrose Community,

It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the passing of one of our students, Jacob Amato. Jacob was getting ready to enter his sophomore year and passed away unexpectedly while on vacation with his family.

Jacob was a precious member of our community, known for his delightful smile and involvement on several athletic teams. He touched the lives of many, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

During this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Jacob's family and loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate through this unimaginable loss.

As a community, it is important that we come together to support one another. Our school counselors and support staff are available to provide assistance and resources to students, families, and staff members who may need support during this grieving process.

Counselors will be available this coming Monday (July 22nd) and Tuesday (July 23rd) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Montrose Area Junior Senior High School guidance office. Additionally, individual appointments can be arranged by contacting the guidance office at (570) 278-6253.

We encourage you to reach out to your loved ones and neighbors and to be mindful of the impact this loss may have on our community. Together, we can honor Jacob's memory and find strength in our unity during this challenging time.
